The U.S. soccer news has had many developments to report about in the last few days.
U.S. Soccer News From August 6, 2021
On August 6, 2021, the president of U.S. soccer Cindy Parlow Cone said in her letter to Congress that U.S. soccer is committed to equal pay. The said legal fight began in 2016 when the top five women soccer players filed a complaint regarding wage discrimination with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The president said that she would continue to seek to resolve the issue with the players outside of the court even while the appeal process advances. U.S. soccer news reported that the U.S. soccer is ready to pay the team the same structure and bonus amounts, but the demand for an additional $100 million doesn’t come under their purview. It is determined by FIFA. The president also noted the actions that they have been doing, and are planning to do in the future about generating interest in and support for women’s soccer.

The U.S. Women’s Soccer Team won the bronze at the deferred Tokyo 2020 Olympics on August 5, 2021. They won against Australia with a score of 4-3. It was the USWMT’s sixth Olympic medal which now has the record of being the most for any country. Veteran forward Carli Lloyd earned her 312th cap and achieved the all-time leading scorer title at the Olympics (which would be perhaps her last one) with 10 tallies. She also became the first USWMT player to score in four different Olympics.
Curiously enough: The U.S. soccer news got an insight about what the team easts from their private chef. The USNWT’s private chef recently gave an insight into the U.S. soccer news as to what the team eats. Teren Green, their chef, cooks them everything from breakfast, lunch, dinner to snack, pre-game, post-game, and more. The variety of dishes includes turkey bacon, pancakes (surprise!), oatmeals, diced chicken breast, etc. basically, they need a lot of carbohydrates.
