Soccer Equipment List: Why And What Your Child Will Need

If your child is thinking of joining soccer practice, or if you have already admitted him/her, then there is a list of soccer equipment that your child is going to need. Now, you might know about some of the equipment your child is going to need, but definitely not all of them. So come, let’s take a look and know about the important soccer equipment your child is going to need.

Why Checking Out The Soccer Equipment List Is Important?

Though you won’t see soccer players wearing too many equipments and gears, yet there are some, which are a must. These equipments not only ensure better gameplay but also protects the player from injury. There are several incidents where a player has died on the field because of collision or injury. And the game of soccer has witnessed many of them. Multiple cases have turned out to be a heart attack amongst many of which was due to a collision.

Now, football being a body contact game has no assurance that you won’t get hit or collide with a player. So, what you can do to protect yourself is to wear the proper equipment with enough protection in your vulnerable body parts like chest, lower abdomen and at times, head too.

The Soccer Equipment List For Your Kid

The soccer equipments are almost same for everybody. However, since the equipments you are buying are for your kid, so you can leave some of them. This is because, initially your kid won’t need all of them to practice. Meanwhile, since this is his/her beginning equipment, you should provide some extra attention to few of them. Come let’s take a look at them.

Soccer Cleats

The soccer cleats are a type of sports shoes, made with the aim of playing soccer only. And, they differ both from common shoes as well as other athletic shoes. Unlike common ones, these shoes have cleats, which ensure better grip and control on your movement. Meanwhile, the cleats are made of rubbers, whereas in other athletic shoes, these cleats are made of metals.

In soccer, metals cleats are strictly not allowed (though they provide better grip) only to avoid injuries. Because, if with metals cleats, someone stands on your feet, your feet are going to get pierced. Also, metal cleats along with their better grips, makes the surface uneven, thus increasing the chances of injury.

In general, you should focus more on the shoe because your child is going to increase in size, and then he/she is going to need a new pair. So make sure, you buy the one, which has different size available. And, also keep a sharp eye on when to buy a new shoe. Meanwhile, don’t buy an over-sized shoe for your child because, that is not going to help. Rather it can be an important reason behind his on-field injury.

Shin Guards

Eventually, shin guards are more important than shoes when it comes to safety and protection. But since the size of the shoe and its fittings is the most important thing, so for kid, cleats come first. And then comes the most important equipment of soccer, shin guard. In general, a player is not allowed to compete on a professional level if he/she is not wearing a shin guard. This is because it protects ‘Tibia’, one of the most likely places to get injured while playing.

While buying them for your kid, you should also keep an eye on its size. Cause a smaller shin guard will not be able to provide the complete protection that an upgraded shin guard can.

Apart from these two, you will be needing socks, and jersey to practice. It would be best to consult with the coach about the colour of them.

Other than these, in general, soccer player needs cones, stretchable goals, soccer ball, agility ladders, slalom poles and many more. However, since your kid is just starting his new classes, he won’t be needing them. So you can focus on these two areas and provide him the best that you can.
