FIFA Considers Possibility To Hold World Cup In Every 2 Years

FIFA is considering holding the World Cup for men’s and women’s soccer teams every two years. Though the decision is still under process, the outcome may come out positive. Instead of holding the tournament after every four years, it will be conducted after every two years. The next World Cup take place next year in Qatar, while the women’s tournament will be held in 2023 in Australia/New Zealand. The football federation of Saudi Arabia has come up with the proposal for the 71st FIFA congress with several member associations. In addition, 166 member associations voted in acceptance of this motion, and 22 voted against it. FIFA also further came up with an expansion of the world cup to 48 teams, and the number of games included 80.  

Chelsea and Leicester Charged

The Football Association charges Chelsea and Leicester City during the Premier League on Tuesday. It was due to a clash between the two teams. It is believed that the two teams, including the players and their club officials, conducted in an unruly and unorderly fashion. Indian Football Team Starts Training In Doha

They have also started practicing for joint Qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup and 2023 Asian Cup that will be held next month. The team first arrived in Doha, quarantined mandatorily while waiting for their Covid-19 test results. They were under a 10-day quarantine period. The RT-PCR test came out negative, following which they started their preparatory camp. Sunil Chhetri supports the team. The first match of the Indian Football team will be against Qatar on June 3rd.
